another pre-departure post, this time about a month later. i got home on may 20th, so i've been home for a month and two days. i leave in exactly three months and one day. my goal is to save $4,000 this summer, in order to afford rent/food maybe. selling my car will help in achieving this goal, but i don't want to necessarily stop at 4,000.
last night i met someone who is a german major who will be in berlin for part of the time that i'll be there. i'm not sure if i want to really hang out with him a lot or anything, but coincidences like that are sort of comforting ... one semi-familiar face in the crowd.
right now my biggest worries are finding an apartment, running out of money, having to come home for some reason, and also packing everything into two suitcases that may only weigh 50 pounds each. more to come when i find new things to worry about, or when i get another month closer to leaving.
